Buying guide

Five steps to choosing the right air conditioning and heating equipment.

Do you want to enhance your comfort but aren’t sure whether to choose a heat pump or an air conditioner?

Ask yourself the following questions :

  • Why should I add a heat pump if I already have a heating system?
  • Will I really save energy?
  • What’s the difference in price?
  • Which brand should I choose?

Here’s how to get started

First, think about your needs and the kinds of improvements you’d like to see. Then, follow the steps below.
Think about your needs

Think about your needs

When the time comes to invest in a new heating or air conditioning system, in order to determine which system is most suitable to supplement or replace your current system, you first need to know what kind of heating system you have (electric baseboard heaters; electric, gas or fuel-oil pulsed-air heating; central heating; hot water heating; underfloor heating; etc.).

Next, determine your needs. Do you want to enhance your day-to-day comfort, save money on your electricity bill, combat the dog days of summer or avoid the dry air of winter? Are you looking for equipment that’s energy efficient, low-maintenance, easy to use or quiet? Do you have trouble sleeping because the temperature in your home is always too cold or too hot?

Determine your purchasing criteria

Determine your purchasing criteria

Before scheduling an appointment with one of our consultants, make a list of factors that will determine which product you’d like to purchase: quiet operation, extended warranty, specialized equipment or combined equipment (a heat pump), reliability, cost effectiveness, financing options, equipment maintenance costs, intuitive operation, etc.

No matter what equipment you choose, we can offer you professional installation and post-sales service that will exceed your expectations.
